Mission Statement
The overall mission of LFCS is to prepare the Little Flock of Christ to be in the world (by developing their academic, social and physical skills), but not of the world (by educating them in a Christian atmosphere and helping them to mature morally and spiritually).

History

St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church of Washington, D.C., believes that it is God’s calling for His Church to help raise children and guide them to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). While parents and guardians have the primary responsibility of educating their children, the church exists to assist in this process. With that goal in mind, the church established Little Flock Christian School (LFCS) in 2003.

Philosophy
LFCS is a Christ-centered learning environment which strives to help children develop their God-given skills and use them to the fullest of their potential.  Our program is geared towards energetic and enthusiastic children who thrive in a nurturing environment with low student-to-teacher ratio.  We believe strongly in the importance of parent/teacher cooperation.

Statement of Faith
We believe in One God, the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, existent before all ages, who then took flesh and became man.  We believe that through His death and resurrection, we attain salvation.  We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the life of the coming age.
